Material Recycling Services
JWS are one of the most progressive recycling centres in the UK. We process around 2000m³ skips of waste every day and every effort is made to ensure that from every skip received over 70% of the waste is recycled. Material Recycling process The waste is tipped onto a huge conveyor, and several magnets are used to separate all the metal objects, the waste enters a large rotating drum called a trommal.
The drum allows all fine particles and the smaller aggregates to fall on to conveyors that convey the material for further separation using an air conveyance system. The remainder is sorted by hand and all the wood, metal, and aggregate is sorted and stocked ready for further processing into finished recycled products. |
By the end of the process there are piles of aggregate ready for road and construction use, wood for chipboard production, metal ready for melting down and reuse, soil for landscaping, cardboard and paper for the papermills
