Traffic Office Goes Digital

JWS Waste’s Traffic Office goes digital with the new system installation.

JWS Waste traffic office go digital with new driver technology 'Driver Check' to keep the JWS company legal and safe

The New Year sees significant digital change and improvement coming to the JWS Waste traffic office which will see the team thrust firmly into the 21st century.

These new developments all support our strong Health & Safety ethos and offer our customers complete comfort that our drivers and systems are compliant, accredited and highly trained.

The traffic office are now using the online “Driver Check” system in order to check that JWS drivers are legal to drive, the dates of their next medicals and any endorsements on their licences. This system recently highlighted that two JWS drivers were due for medicals though neither had received any written communication from the DVLA. This would have put JWS at risk of operating with drivers without licences or insurance so is seen as an important development in driver management and health & safety standards.

Further improvement can be seen demonstrated with our fleet of vehicles which have all undergone rigourous LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998.) certification which is available for customers to see on request. JWS Waste drivers are also carrying ‘Training Competence Cards”which details their training and expertise, these are available to customers to view on request and demonstrate the training our drivers have undergone.

And finally in December 2013 Tim Andrew, Operations Manager completed his COTC (Certificate of  Technical Competence) Continuing Competence accreditation which allows JWS Waste to continue operating as a permitted waste facility.

All in all a busy time for the traffic office, with many changes and improvements which demonstrate our ongoing commitment to staff development, and health and safety culture.
