JWS Waste showed our support for Biffa’s cycling fundraiser with a sponsorship donation of £1000.

A small but elite team of Biffa employees were involved in a cycling fundraiser that took place on the 10th and 11th June. Raising money for a special charity, these Biffa employees were sponsored to cycle 170 miles along the coast to coast route between Morecambe and Bridlington. JWS Waste were more than pleased to help Biffa in this fundraising endeavour, by donating £1000 towards the cause.

This fundraising scheme was to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA). This is a very deserving charity that focuses onfunding for research, campaigns, and support for those who are affected by the disease. Motor Neurone Disease is a progressive disease that attacks the nerves in the brain and spinal cord. There is currently no cure for this disease so significant funding is required to continue essential research and to provide much needed care for those already affected by this disease.

The Biffa team were successful in raising money for this worthy cause, earning a spectacular £10,000+  – exceeding their original target of £2,700 by over 350%! This is a resounding success for this fundraising team, and the money will be able to go a long way for those in who really need it. Congratulations all!
